WHO WE ARE
MentaliTea is a mental health support initiative born out of the need for anonymous, confidential, worry and stigma free environments to chat and talk it out over a cuppa.
As is often the case, many individuals feel ashamed to disclose their mental health struggles to their families, friends as well as practitioners in traditional mental health support facilities such as counselling centres or psychotherapy clinics and more often than not, choose to battle these struggles alone. When these struggles are kept bottled in, they sometimes morph into major depression which affects one’s ability to be productive and live their life optimally.
MentaliTea is not an alternative nor a replacement for professional mental health care and treatment. The initiative aims to create a casual, comfortable space for people to chat with a person that is completely uninvolved with any facet of their life which is often a highly effective method of stress relief free from prejudice.
